Custom Website
Design
for
Small Businesses
Every site I build is designed from scratch around one business: yours. Here's the work I do most.
Business Websites
Clean, credible sites for local service and retail businesses, built to turn visitors into calls, bookings, and walk-ins.
Online Stores
Online shops that make browsing simple and checkout quick, turning more of your visitors into paying customers.
Portfolio & Personal Sites
Sites for actors, artists, and creatives whose work needs to speak the moment the page finishes loading.
Website Redesigns
Have a site that feels stuck in the past? I rebuild dated websites into fast, modern ones without losing what already works.

Here’s how we launch
- Listen — it starts with a real conversation about what you want.
- Scope — your goals become concrete features, systems, and project requirements.
- Build — the user experience becomes the interface and layout of your site.
- Refine — visual design, feedback, and iteration turn the draft into the final site.
- Launch — your site goes live, built for desktop and mobile.

Questions, Answered
The questions clients ask most, before we ever get started.
Once you reach out, we get on a call to talk through what you're looking for: the purpose of the site, who it's for, and what you want it to do. That conversation is where the whole project takes shape.
Whatever you've got. If you already have brand assets like a logo, photos, colors, or examples of sites you like, those help, but none of it is required. If you're starting from nothing, that's completely fine; we'll build it from the ground up together.
As involved as you want to be. Some clients send me reference sites, images, even rough sketches; others just describe the broad idea and let me run with it. Both work, and I'll meet you wherever you're comfortable.
I check in once I have a first draft of the style for you to react to, again any time there's a bigger change to weigh in on, and of course when the project's finished. You'll never be left wondering where things stand.
Every project includes a fully custom design and build (no templates), a mobile-ready site with SEO fundamentals (titles, metadata, and performance), help writing or shaping your site's copy, and full launch setup: domain, hosting, and analytics, handed over working.
It depends on the project. Simpler sites can be done within days; larger builds take a few weeks. Either way, I work around your timeline, and if you have a launch date, we'll hit it.
It starts with a conversation about what you want from the site. I turn that into a first draft for you to approve. If you want changes, I make them and check back before moving on. Then I finalize the design, present the finished product, and once you approve, launch it.
Always. Nothing launches until you've seen the finished product and signed off. You review the first draft, you review any changes, and you give the final go-ahead before the site ever goes live.
Tell me early. The more we pin down what you need up front, the faster I can build, so if you've got a date to hit, we get the details right at the start and I move quickly from there.
Every site I build is custom, so every quote is too. Tell me about your project through the form below and you'll have a personalized quote within 24 hours, with no obligation and no pressure.
Every project is quoted individually, but here's what moves the number up or down:
- The number of pages
- SEO research and optimization
- Custom features like an online store, booking, forms, galleries, member logins, or animations
- Whether you fill in the placeholder text or need me to write more of the copy
- Third-party integrations like payments, scheduling, email, or CRMs
- The overall complexity of the design and interactions
- Content volume, like how many products, services, or listings
- A rush timeline, if you're on a tight deadline
I work in milestones. Before we begin, you get an approximate project price up front: my best, honest estimate. If anything about that changes as the work unfolds, you'll hear it from me before you reach the next milestone or make a payment. You'll never be surprised by a cost you didn't agree to first.
No. I don't put anyone on recurring costs unless they want them. The one optional exception: if you'd like me to host your site for you, I can, for a monthly fee, but only if that's what works best for you.
For larger projects, yes. If a payment plan makes the project easier to take on, we can work one out together.
I write as much of it as I can and guide you through the rest. For anything that needs inside knowledge of your business, I'll put placeholder content in place and ask you to fill in the specifics, then help shape it so it reads well.
I handle your branding, style, and overall design direction. For logo design specifically, I'll point you to a designer I trust and work with, Catherine Heath, so your logo gets the same dedicated attention as the rest of your site.
Either way works. You can supply your own photos, or I can source the right images for your site.
Almost always, yes. I try never to turn down a request: online stores, booking, forms, galleries, and more are all on the table. For more complex features I'll just be upfront about the added cost so you can decide what's worth it.
Every site is mobile-ready with SEO fundamentals built in (titles, metadata, and performance), so it looks right on any device and gives you a real foundation to get found.
100%. The site and the domain are yours. The only thing I ask is that you loop me in before any big structural changes, like adding or removing whole sections, or reworking the layout. Updating your own copy is always encouraged; it's just the larger design changes where a quick heads-up keeps the site looking and performing the way it was built to.
Whatever works best for you. I can manage hosting and keep the site updated, or set everything up under your own accounts and hand you the keys. Either way, you're never locked in.
Changes after launch are handled per request. Tell me what you need and I'll draft it up with an estimate before any work begins.
You're covered for the first three months. If anything breaks in that window, I'll fix it, free. After that, issues caused by systems outside my control (say, a third-party service changing how it works) are handled per request, though if it's a genuinely quick fix, I'll just take care of it.
